LEGAL REQUIREMENTS CONT''D

You should plan to arrive in Turkey at least 3 clear working days before the actual wedding day as you will both be required to visit the nearest British Consulate and Turkey Governorship to where you are getting married (eg Antalya for Kas, Kalkan,Fethiye, Oludeniz area etc or Izmir for Marmaris and Icmeler areas) to get the CNI translated and approved.

Turkey Weddings will arrange the appointments, transport & provide English speaking personnel to assist you throughout the procedures. All fees and expenses for this trip are included in the majority of our packages (except basic). We will also, on that day, complete the paperwork with the local registrar who will be performing your ceremony.

You will both be required to have a health certificate issued by the local health clinic in the council area you will be marrying in - whilst in most areas this is a mere formality some regions may require a painless blood test (which takes 24 hours or less to come back) before they issue this certificate.

It is also necessary to be in Turkey at least ONE working day after the wedding so that we can deposit the marriage with the Honorary Consulate which will send a copy to your local registry office.

For non UK nationals procedures may differ so please contact us or your nearest Turkish embassy for more advice on what is required.
